Exchanges between Shanghai Jianqiao College and Foreign Universities
SJC attaches importance to exchanges and cooperation with higher educational institutions abroad. SJC has established cooperative and exchanges relationships with overseas universities or colleges from Australia, UK, USA, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan District and so on.
SJC and Singapore’s Nanyang Modern Management Institute have cooperatively educated over 100 SJC students majoring in tourism management in the past six years
According to the collaborative agreement, SJC and Japan’s Baika Women’s University, Tomakomai Komazawa University cooperatively educated some 30 SJC students in the past 4 years.
SJC signed agreement for students exchange programs with Australia’s William Blue College. The first group of SJC students went to Australia in September 2009. Now the second group are ready to leave for Australia.
SJC has establishing exchange relationships with Wingate University in North Carolina USA. A group of five teachers of English from Shanghai Jianqiao College went to Wingate University to take advanced studies in summer 2009. A professor from Wingate University came to Jianqiao to give lectures In June 2010
SJC has signed agreement with East London University and Malaysia Stamford College for cooperatively educating SJC students from Associate Bachelors and Bachelors to Bachelors and Master degrees.
The discussion of educational cooperation between SJC and University of Chester in Britain has gone into substantial stage.
Ten exchange students from SJC went to Trans-world Institute of Technology in Taiwan to take one semester studies since September 2009 and now the third batch of students are ready to leave for The Trans-world.
The program of SJC exchange students going to KunShan University in Taiwan for one semester studies has got started.
The joint research program with Chung Yuan Christian University in Taiwan and joint education program with Dayeh University in Taiwan are under substantial discussion.
SJC has cosponsored Forum of Presidents of Private Universities from Across the Taiwan Straits with KunShan University in Taiwan since early 2008 in the past three years for three successive annual sessions. The third session has just ended at Shanghai Jianqiao College in May 2010. Presidents of about 40 universities from both side of the Straits attended the forum.
Each year, SJC received professors, experts and universities leaders all over the world for academic exchanges or friendly visits about 30 times
